Good news: We’re back in business soon!
Dear Melanie Lake Supporters:
During these uncertain times, it feels great to be able to report this good news: We are planning to open Melanie Lake on Sunday, May 31.
We want to emphasize that we’re taking all the measures available to reopen and operate with your safety as our No. 1 priority. We’ve been working with the Summit County Health Department and Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to assure our water is clean and safe and that we’re doing everything possible to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
As you may know, we’re blessed at Melanie Lake to be served by a huge artesian well that produces 1.5 million gallons of fresh water every six to seven days. Additionally, we’ll be taking extra steps to try to help all our guests and employees stay safe. All of our employees will be wearing masks or shields and all are being trained on virus protection guidelines. We’re adopting disinfecting guidelines for our facilities, especially for high-touch areas. For example, we’ll be wiping down diving board rails after every dive. And we’ll be asking all of our visitors to please continue to observe social distancing guidelines. To help with that, we’re sectioning off our lake and limiting how many people can be on our water dock. We also hope you’ll all continue your own safe practices, including avoiding public areas like our lake if you’re not feeling well.
We want Melanie Lake to be a fun and safe place for you and your family.
We also want to be good neighbors. So, we’ve been working with a committee of our Melanie Lake neighbors to address concerns about excessive noise, including the use of recently purchased decibel meters and strategically placing speakers. We want to be respectful to our community.
Thank you for your support over these challenging weeks. It’s been an unsure and sometimes scary time for our business. Now, with the help of state and local health and environmental experts, we’re looking forward to the summer.
We’re happy to answer any questions you may have. And we hope we can continue to count on your support – and your visits to Melanie Lake.
C’mon in! The water’s fine – and safe!
